Blueberry Muffin Smoothie
Makes 1 16 oz. Smoothie
Protein (opt for around 18-20 grams): 1 Serving (3 scoops) NOW® Sports Organic Vanilla Plant Protein
Fat (1 serving, 1-2 Tbsp.): 2 Tbsp. unsalted, creamy almond butter
Fiber (10 grams): 1-2 Tbsp. NOW® Organic Acacia Fiber Powder
Fructose*: ¼ cup frozen blueberries.
Liquid*: 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
Superfood*: 1 Tbsp. NOW Real Food® Organic Hemp Seed Hearts
* Add in 1/4 cup of fruit, liquid, and a hit of superfoods to round out a well-balanced beverage. Note, LeVeque recommends keeping the carbohydrate source in the smoothies to antioxidant-rich fruits, like berries, or even raw cacao (naturally occurring sources of sugar). She recommends no more than five grams of added sugar, if needed.
